However, sellers can run into numerous issues while attempting to create new parentages, update existing parentages, update variation themes or remove product variations from existing parentages. There are two ways to change your Amazon variation type: Either delete the existing parent item and recreate a parentage using the intended variation theme, or use a file feed upload to change the variation type.
Yes, you can add a variation to an existing Amazon listing using one of two methods The first involves using the file feed upload, where you can create a detailed spreadsheet that includes the necessary information about your new variation. This file can then be uploaded to Amazon’s system to update your listing. The second method is through the Variation Wizard, a user-friendly tool available in Seller Central. The Variation Wizard guides you step-by-step through the process of adding variations, ensuring that all required fields are accurately filled out.
Error Code 8541 on Amazon is a product matching error. This occurs when the product identifier is, or was previously, associated with a listing already created in the Amazon catalog database. To resolve this error, determine the correct association for the identifier and understand why it was already used. Solutions may include submitting a support ticket to investigate and resolve the issue, obtaining a new, unused identifier, or creating a listing with the incorrect data and then working with support to update it using file feed uploads. This ensures the correct data is associated with the product in Amazon’s system.
Delete the parent item if the entire variation needs to be removed. If only some of the items need to be removed from the variation, a support ticket request should be submitted to remove the applicable Child ASIN(s)
It is no easy task to get your Amazon listing to top-ranked status, either in terms of Best Seller Rank (BSR) in its sub-category or for your product’s primary keywords. Keyword ranking comes first; you must identify the most highly searched, relevant keywords and advertise them aggressively to improve your organic ranking. The A9 algorithm cares about Clicks + Sales, and the better you convert keyword searches into sales, the higher your listing will rank. Using FBA, staying in stock, and garnering high ratings & reviews all help to solidify Amazon top seller status.
In cases where the product is actually unavailable for purchase, the primary root causes are the product is out of stock, has a future start date, or a listing suspension (removal of the product from Amazon’s catalog). If a product is available for purchase on a products detail page, but is not generating sales, the issue can range from compliance Search Suppressions with Amazon’s style guideline requirements, to Buy Box Suppression due to pricing issues. These root causes aside, other primary reasons are typically due to poor quality listings, bad reviews or the result of a product ranking low in organic search results due to a lack of advertising.
