As Amazon continues to evolve, it’s essential for sellers to stay on top of changes in the marketplace that could affect their businesses.

One recent development that’s causing concern among many Amazon sellers is the restructuring of the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) program.

Andy Jassy, the CEO of Amazon, recently released his second Annual Shareholders Letter in which he talked about the company’s efforts to “rearchitect fulfillment.”

He discussed several initiatives aimed at reducing the cost of serving customers and improving the speed of delivery, including a move towards a regionalized fulfillment network.

While these changes may ultimately benefit Amazon and its customers, some sellers are experiencing issues with the FBA program. In particular, many items that are supposed to be in stock are not being delivered on time, leading to frustration and loss of trust among Amazon Prime shoppers.

In this episode, I am joined by Avenue 7 Media’s Director of Presence, Malia Kim, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience, first as an Amazon insider and now as helping sellers, brands, and vendors fight for their rights.

Kim and I dissect these issues and what they mean for Amazon sellers.

The In-Stock Head Start Program

One program that was intended to help with this issue is the In-Stock Head Start program, which allows temporarily out-of-stock products to be automatically made available for purchase by customers when a new shipment is on its way to the fulfillment center.

However, sellers are finding that this program is not working as intended, and products are not becoming available as expected. Amazon Prime and FBA have been the key cornerstones of Amazon’s success for years. However, there are recent signs that these programs may be breaking down.

It’s unclear whether the leaders who were responsible for overseeing these programs were part of the 27K layoffs Amazon. There are growing concerns that Amazon’s cost-cutting strategies may be going too far and that the company could be risking the very things that keep shoppers coming back, such as Prime.

For the first time in recent memory, many Amazon sellers and customers are worried about the future of these programs. It’s unclear whether this is just a temporary setback or a long-term problem, but it’s a worrying sign nonetheless.

There seems to be a lack of oversight in many of the programs that Amazon offers If these issues are not resolved soon, it could spell big trouble for Amazon’s business.

Tune in to this episode as Malia and I dive deep into the issues troubling Amazon and offer some solutions.
