Catalog Associate – Walmart

We are looking for a meticulous, detail-oriented Catalog Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and maintaining accurate product listings across multiple eCommerce platforms—with a primary focus on Walmart Marketplace. You will combine strong data skills, marketplace expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance our clients’ catalog presence, drive discoverability, and deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate is highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

Catalog Management & Optimization

  • Create, maintain, and optimize product listings across Walmart Marketplace (primary) and Amazon, using platform-native tools including Walmart Seller Center, Amazon Seller Central, flat file uploads, bulk templates, and API-based solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve listing issues, suppression errors, content discrepancies, and catalog conflicts—including direct resolution with Walmart Seller Support and Amazon Seller Support when required.
  • Conduct keyword research and optimize listings for discoverability, indexing, ranking, and conversion performance across platforms.
  • Update listing content, imagery, attributes, specifications, and backend search terms based on performance data and marketplace changes.
  • Monitor catalog health and proactively identify listing risks, policy concerns, and compliance issues prior to publication.
  • Request, download, and interpret Category Listings Reports, Flat File templates, Active Listing Reports, and platform performance dashboards using MS Excel and Google Spreadsheets.
  • Analyze marketplace trends, competitive listings, and category benchmarks to surface opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Track and maintain performance metrics including listing accuracy, content completion rates, and cycle times; prepare clear summaries and recommendations for internal and client-facing discussions.

Operations & Process

  • Work efficiently within internal systems including Jira, Slack, and Gmail to manage tasks, communicate updates, and track progress.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify and improve catalog workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay current on Walmart Marketplace and Amazon platform changes, policies, and evolving best practices.
  • Think critically and independently to resolve complex catalog issues with minimal supervision.

Client & Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with leadership Brand Growth Strategists and Growth teams on catalog requests, issues, and strategy tailored to each client account.
  • Review assigned accounts ahead of client meetings and prepare updates on open issues, performance opportunities, and catalog initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Advertising, Creative, Performance and Inventory teams to ensure listing content is optimized and aligned with client goals.
  • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and operational reviews. 

Job Requirements & Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s/College Degree in Communications, English, Business, or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Operate independently with a high level of ownership, accountability, and accuracy.
  • Walmart Marketplace experience; Amazon or other eCommerce platform experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Google Spreadsheets, including Pivot Tables, formulas, and data validation.
  • Experience with flat files, bulk uploads, and marketplace catalog systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and a fast learner.
  • Strong analytical, logical, and research skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and eager to grow.
